Paul Struggles in prayer as he prays about the battles that come from within the church. Believers from within the church who proclaim to know Christ and love Christ, but are preaching a false gospel.
Pauls goal is for the church at Laodicea to be Strengthened (Comforted and encouraged), United (with the apostles and Father, Son and Holy Spirit), Confident (a solid understanding of God’s Word), Illuminated (so they won’t be mislead by false teachers.)
