THIS WEEK ONLY 24TH OCTOBER 2021 WE ARE NOT HAVING A MORNING SERVICE. WE ARE MEETING AT QUEEN ADELAIDE VILLAGE HALL FOR AN EVENING SERVICE AT 6:30 PM.
Perhaps you are wondering what it might be like to come along to New Connexions on a Sunday morning and would like to know what actually happens?
The main service begins just before 10.30 a.m. and our worship group will be playing /singing for a few minutes before then as we gather. Church is open from 10 a.m. when we’ll have a short prayer and have opportunity for any who want to come early to catch up over a coffee or tea.
A warm welcome will always be given and we’ll open our service with an bible reading and prayer before some more worship songs, including one particularly chosen for the children. Songs are mainly chosen from ‘Songs of Fellowship’ books and include older hymns, choruses for children and contempary Christian worship songs.
There are children and youth activities taking place in the room directly off, which run alongside, the main church. These may include a bible passage with activities, games, craft, worship songs, prayer, videos even food related on occasions! A team of DBS checked adults run these groups. The children feedback to the main body at the end of the morning, and will often have been studying the same passage of the bible that the adults have.
The service will always include prayers and a sermon of around 20 – 30 minutes. It is recorded and alongside home group questions is available on the church website. Our Pastor preaches, usually focusing for a few weeks on a particular book of the Old or New Testament, for the majority of Sundays supported by a team of 3 other men who will also preach.
Communion is celebrated once a month within the service. We sometimes watch short video clips about current issues facing Christians in the U.K and worldwide today. We particularly support Sierra Leone Mission (More details on the church website section).
During the year we have special services as we celebrate together – these include a nativity, Carol service, Easter celebration and all age worship when we all stay together for the morning. We usually close the morning around 12.00 p.m.
We would love to tell you more –please join us one Sunday soon. You might have questions that we have not answered here so please fill in the CONTACT form on the church website and we will be in touch soon.
