Job 1-2
This is part one of two teachings on the book of Job, to see what we can be taught about suffering. Would you buy a house if you were only able to see one of its rooms? Would you buy a car if you were only permitted to see it’s tyres and a bonnet (Hood US Eng.)? Would you pass judgement on a book after only reading one paragraph. No. To make a good judgement requires a broad picture. This is true also for evaluating life. One failure doesn’t make a person a failure. One success doesn’t make a person a success.
