John 20:19-23
Look at this passage and imagine that you’re gone to the theatre and you’re going to see a play called Hope after failure and as the curtain rises, there on the stage are these men, you discover are Jesus’ disciples. They are deep in conversation. They’re looking back over their time with Jesus, they’re discussing it there, considering those three years spent following him, their call. Consider what that would have been like to have actually heard his teaching first hand to witness the miracles first hand. Seeing his example of love and compassion to all those who came to him Jew and sometimes Gentile. For three of them have been present at the Transfiguration. Imagine that, to have seen part of the glory of Jesus shining through and many more things recorded in our Bibles. In fact, a lot of things they would have seen that are not recorded in our Bibles. Gordon unpacks John 20:19-23.
