The Depths of God’s Love: Its Lavish Benefits.

See how great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. One of the passages we looked at last week was in Romans 5:6,8,10. I will read those verses because it sort of sets the scene where we're going to go this morning, Romans 5:6-10. At just the right time when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Verse 8. But God demonstrates his love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Verse 10. If while we were God's enemy to be reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life? So, Paul saying there in those verses, that we were three things, if you liked before we became Christians. We were powerless, we were sinners and we were enemies of God, and in that situation God sent Jesus to die for use and take the punishment for our sin that we deserved and he reconciled us to Himself. Paul Woodbridge unwraps 1 John 3:1-9
