Tomorrow Tomorrow. The idea of tomorrow for all of us is one that gets into everything, our being, how we live and the world wouldn't function without us being able to think about tomorrow. If we couldn’t predict what is coming, we can't plan, we can't prepare, we can't make effective decisions and we know, we hear of, we see maybe people who know, who unfortunately for whatever reason, have memory issues. Sometimes this is so severe that they cannot lead an independent or affective life. We use the experiences that we have, that we've built up in our memories, to be able to look forward. Our incredibly complex minds are able to take up past experiences, sort them out into order and then be able to look forward from those and work out how things are likely to go tomorrow or even further forward. If we didn't, if we weren't able to, if we couldn't look forward to tomorrow, we wouldn't be able to function. But tomorrow can have a positive or a negative impact, depending on how we view it and it's highly influenced by obviously today. We all know we have many, many sayings about tomorrow and we also all know that time only ever flows one way, forwards, we can never ever get time back. Even the last minute has gone it's disappeared. The passage we're looking at this morning is a picture of two halves and you may think it's odd that I've gone across the chapter break because they seem to be completely different subjects, but they are linked.
